How Men can Really help stop the Violence

Professor Catherine Murray, Simon Fraser University suggests that vigilantism is not effective for addressing gender violence. Apparently young men in Chilliwack BC were using the Internet to out pedophiles and locate

men trolling for girls for sex. Luckily, she points to more progressive ways to stop men from behaving badly to women like: “Don’t Be That Guy” campaign set up by Women Against Violence against Women (WAVAW) and the “More than a Bystander” campaign by Ending Violence Against Women (BC EVA). Perhaps these men could spend their valuable time spreading the word about  these programs. (Source: Vancouver Sun, 25 Nov 11).
