Lingerie Football League is demeaning and pathetic

I can’t believe it’s really a sport. But yes there is actually a lingerie football league in which near naked women athletes compete. These women have no protection to prevent injury and “accidental nudity” is common. Although we like to poke fun at it, the fact that is that if it’s happening at all it is another sad reflection on how we treat women in sports. They cannot earn an income doing what they love, so they sell their bodies. It would be a shame if this happened to the NFL and the men had to shamefully get naked for us to get up enough interest to watch them. [Source: Daphne Bramham, Vancouver Sun, Feb 2012]
