Pivot report shows how faulty process can harm women

A new report by PivotLegal.org suggests that the process used to look into the police mishandling of the Pickton serial murders and Vancouver Missing Women was flawed. As a result the inquiry lost a real opportunity to allow those impacted to heal. The report includes several “process” recommendations (such as not having 25 lawyers defending the police and 2 representing familes impacted) that are so obviously necessary when ensuring due process that it makes me wonder how anyone can have trust in the process.  As a harassment investigator and a circle facilitator I know the difference between proceeses that simply find guilt and those that aim to heal. Sadly this process appears to falls short of either. (Source: Vancouver Sun 20 Nov 2012)
