Police need to admit not stopping female murders

Willie Pickton (of the Pig Farm) bragged about killing female street workers and the Vancouver police seemed to turn a blind eye. Yet rarely does anyone question the apathy and indifference toward these vulnerable women.

Last week, however, journalist Ian Mulgrew (in his Vancouver Sun Sept 6 article) steps up. He bravely blames the police for not only failing to do their jobs, but also the legal profession for covering it up. As he says “Its so overwhelmingly horrenduous that the legal system has been tying itself in knots to keep the truth from becoming public.” As a lawyer, who was trained to defend the public interest, I am deeply ashamed!
