You know this. And I know this. Yet our Canadian government wants to introduce mandatory minimum sentences for minor marijuana offenses. Imagine, more kids who try marijuana will end up in our newly built prisons. Recently a handful of American law enforcers were so disturbed by this that they actually wrote a letter to our Harper government urging them not to do this! They said that years of experience suggest that this does not work and indeed makes things worse. Yup, we know this. In fact 16 US states have decriminalized certain marijuana use. I think we Canadians should listen. Just listen.
