Recent research shows that binge drinking can have a long-lasting negative effect on the brains of teen girls. Research from the University of California San Diego (UCSD) found that binging affects teen girls brains more than their male peers.
This may be because girls brains develop one to two years earlier than teen boys or because of hormonal differences. Whatever, the solution is to keep young girls away from alcohol or teach moderation. Yikes. (Source: Vancouver Sun via Agence France-Presse, July 16, 2011)
