It should come as no surprise that recent research shows that school bullying is linked to domestic violence. Jay Silverman of the Harvard School of Public Health found that boys who bully in school are significantly more likely to assault their wives. If school yards are practice areas we must pay closer attention to school bullying when thinking about stopping violence against women. This is another reason why restorative approaches (like circles that teach bullies the impact of their actions) are so much more effective than punishment and control approaches.
