I don’t think the fall TV line up advances women at all, but who knows. I do know that having so many female-targeted television shows has raised all kinds of great debates. Like the one about the low the number of women in film making and TV production. Shame on them. But as TV producers continue to try to reach more women they will undoubtedly have to look inside their own ranks of women and tap the wealth of knowledge and expertise, currently underutilized. Let’s hope. For me, I am just waiting for more shows with intelligent women and girls in powerful roles.
